    Generation No. 11. Bradbury FERGUSON was born around 1801, possible in New Hampshire. He was married on 22 September 1827 in Massachusetts1 to the former Elizabeth Ann FROTHINGHAM, daughter of John FROTHINGHAM and Margery PRAY. Eliza was born around 1800 in Portsmouth, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire. They had six children during their marriage. Unfortunately, Bradbury shot and murdered his wife on 1 October 1840 in Exeter, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire2. She was only 40 years old. Bradbury was arrested and convicted of 2nd degree murder, then sentenced to life in the New Hampshire State Penitentiary, Concord, Merrimack Co., New Hampshire3. He passed away in jail around November 1853. According to the New Hampshire State Legislative Act of Decemeber 1840, published January 1841, allowed for the change of the children's surnames from FERGUSON to their mother's maiden name of FROTHINGHAM4.

    Generation No. 22. William Ausgustus FROTHINGHAM was born 29 January 1830 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. William learned the blacksmith's trade in Gray, Maine and apprenticed and honed his trade while in Massachusetts and New York. He came to Paris, Maine on 15 March 1854. He married Lois Ann MERRILL, daughter of Moses MERRILL. She was born around 1831 and together they had three children. Lois passed away on 3 October 1857 in South Paris, Maine. William later re-married to Ellen J. EVERETT, daughter of George Washington EVERETT and Elizabeth F. BURNS on 9 September 1860 in Paris, Maine. She was born in April 1839 and together they had four children. William purchased a half interest, with John Farr, in the shop on the east side of the river. The following year they built the shop opposite the Savings Bank and continued the business, including carriage-making, with William H. Newhall for about eighteen years. Mr. Newhall then retired from the firm and the shop was sold to Mr. Jacob Dresser. William purchased the Smith shoe store in 1874 and has continued it as a shoe store to the present time. He was also partner in the shoe manufactory, with firm name of William A. Frothingham & Co. Some of William's other accomplishments were: Master of the Paris Lodge #94, from 1870-72; Served on the board of selectmen from 1870 to 1875; A trustee of new South Paris Savings Bank organized 1873; Representative to the Legislature of 1874; County Commissioner by appointment from January 1882 to January 18839. Ellen passed away on 27 January 1913 in South Paris, Maine. William died on 25 June 1896 in South Paris, Maine.

They were married in Paris, Maine on 26 July 1890. She was born on 6 June 1861 in Perry, Maine. Together they had one child. He was the Postmaster of South Paris, Maine from 22 January 1886 to 10 October 1889. He passed away on 12 June 1947. She passed away on 10 November 1918. William and Jane are buried in the Riverside Cemetery, South Paris, Maine.

He married Marguerite Mary BRIMIGION, daughter of Thurlow Weed BRIMIGION, M.D. and Mary Abbie KINCAID, 3 November 1917 in Lewiston, Maine. She was born 5 Jan 1895 in Portland, Maine. Together they had nine children. He also registered for World War I. He was the Deputy Sheriff in South Paris, Maine. He was also the Master of Paris, Lodge, Number 94, South Paris, Maine in 1923. He passed away on 25 December 1936 in South Paris, Maine. She passed away on 4 September 1941 in South Paris, Maine. Both are buried in the Riverside Cemetery, South Paris, Maine.
