Shloyma was born in 1925.  Shloyma's father was Yisrael Meyer Pieniek and his mother was Henna Sarah Dragon.  His paternal grandparents were David Eleazer (Layzer)  Pieniek and Rana Temara Braun; his maternal grandparents are Yitzchak Yakov Dragon and Chaya Leah Konskovolsky. He had a brother and four sisters, named Yitzchak Yakov, Yita (Itta), Esther (Estera), Chaya Leah and Rana.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named David Joshua, Heinich (Hanoch) (Henry), Moniek (Morris, Moishe), Miriam (Manya) and Baila.
