Hawa was born on February 28th, 1851 in Golub-Dobrzyn, Poland.1   Hawa's father was Ber Pieniek and her mother was Reichla Kraianek.  Her paternal grandparents were Tobiasz Pieniek and Ester Bezbrody. She had a brother and a sister, named Tobiasz and Fayga.  She was the oldest of the three children.
