George was born about 1826 in Barking Essex.  George's father was John Forge (Sail Maker grave 312) and his mother was Mary Haggis (Grave 312 St Margarets).  His paternal grandparents were John Forge and Mary Stradling; his maternal grandfather was William Tudsbery Haggis (Grave 311) and his maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Ann and Elizabeth.  He was the youngest of the five children.
