William was born on October 16th, 1858 in Chipstead Surrey.1   William's father was William Bennett (Bricklayer & Publican ) and his mother was Jane Cox (b Westminister).  His paternal grandparents were Edward born Merstham Surrey Bennett (Bricklayer then Inn Keeper) and Sarah Tulett (of Crawley Sussex); his maternal grandparents were John Cox (Wheeler) and Ann. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Arthur, Ernest, Walter, Clara, Sarah and Jane.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 74 on November 14th, 1932.1 




William's family

William and Alice were married.  They had two sons and three daughters, named William, Roland, Alice, Daisy and Elsie.
