Clara was born on July 7th, 1855 in Chipstead Surrey.1  Clara's father was William Bennett (Bricklayer & Publican ) and her mother was Jane Cox (b Westminister).  Her paternal grandparents were Edward born Merstham Surrey Bennett (Bricklayer then Inn Keeper) and Sarah Tulett (of Crawley Sussex); her maternal grandparents were John Cox (Wheeler) and Ann. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Arthur, Ernest, Walter, Sarah and Jane.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 91 on January 12th, 1947.1

Clara and James  were married.  They had a son named Peter.
