Robert was born on August 31st, 1567 in Eckington, Derbyshire, England.  Robert's father was Thomas STANIFORTH and his mother was Jane (UNKNOWN).  His paternal grandparents were Thomas STANIFORTH and Agnes (UNKNOWN).  He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Ralph, John, William, Dorothy, Elizabeth and Agnes.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
