Elizabeth was born on December 5th, 1559 in Eckington, Derbyshire, England.  Elizabeth's father was Thomas STANIFORTH and her mother was Jane (UNKNOWN).  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas STANIFORTH and Agnes (UNKNOWN).  She had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Ralph, John, William, Robert, Dorothy and Agnes.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
