Peter was born in 1817.  Peter's father was John MARSLAND and his mother was Mary CLARE.  His paternal grandparents were John MARSLAND and Martha ALDCROFT.  He had five brothers and a sister, named Thomas, James, John, Charles, Thomas and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
