Mary was born in 1825.  Mary's father was Samuel MARSLAND and her mother was Elizabeth YATES.  Her paternal grandparents were John MARSLAND and Martha ALDCROFT.  She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Samuel, Martha, Ellen, Sarah and Hannah.  She was the oldest of the seven children.
