Gertrude was born in 1905. Gertrude's father was William BAXTER and her mother was Ellen Ann MARSLAND. Her maternal grandparents were John MARSLAND and Jane A BRADSHAW. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Samuel, Annie, Emma and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the six children.
