John's father was John Wilson and his mother was Jessie Mcwilliam.  His paternal grandparents were John Wilson and Margaret Rennie. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James, Alexander, William, George, Ann, Maggie and Jessie.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 77 on May 20th, 1947 in Fraserburgh.
