George's father was John Wilson and his mother was Jessie Mcwilliam.  His paternal grandparents were John Wilson and Margaret Rennie. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Alexander, William, Ann, Maggie and Jessie.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 35 in 1916 in Macduff.
