Robert's father was Thomas Morrison McPike and his mother was Agnes McTaggart Mcclelland. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Thomas, James, Margaret, Helen and Isabella.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 71 on January 26th, 1944 in Tarbolton.
