Helen was born on December 31st, 1687. Helen's father was David Hay-Bruce and her mother was Helen Bruce. Her paternal grandparents were James Hay and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Bruce (of Kinnaird) and Helen Bruce (of Clackmannon). She had three brothers and a sister, named Alexander, John, David and Margaret. She was the second oldest of the five children.-
