Major William Bruce

William was born in 1744 in Larbert.

William's father was David Hay-Bruce and his mother was Agnes Glen. His paternal grandparents were David Hay-Bruce and Helen Bruce. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, David, Thomas, Robert, Bruce, Agnes, Elisabeth and Margaret. He had a half-brother named James. He died at the age of 39 on April 30th, 1783 in British India.
