Ida was born on July 8th, 1870 in Platte Co., Missouri.1 Ida's father was William Payne WALLINGFORD and her mother was Mary Ann Knox. Her paternal grandparents were John WALLINGFORD and Prudence WILLETT. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William F., Charles, Bettie and Mollie. She was the youngest of the five children. She had four half-brothers named John Steele, Porter Irwin, Samuel Riley and Robert Steele.-
