William Lawrence Tilley 
William Lawrence was born on August 21st, 1899 in Orange Co, NC. William Lawrence's father was William Rountree Tilley and his mother was Mamie Mary Roberts. His maternal grandparents were Francis 'Frank' Albert Roberts and Elizabeth 'Bette' Ann Crabtree. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Guy Frances, Robert Bratcher, Ernest Stearling, Herman Coleman, Wesley Bryant, Royal Fredrick, Victor Orman, Ethel Caviness, Nora Elizabeth and Mamie Blanche. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 71 on April 8th, 1971 in Durham, Durham Co, NC. He was buried on April 10th, 1971 in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, Durham Co, NC.General Notes
