Robert's baptism took place on December 9th, 1768 in North Bradley.1  Robert's father was Robert Pit and his mother was widow Mary Wilkins. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, John, Lidia, Lydia and Mary. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Benjamin, John, Fanney and Frances.
