John's baptism took place on November 6th, 1773 in North Bradley.1  John's father was Robert Pit and his mother was widow Mary Wilkins. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John, Lidia, Lydia and Mary. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Benjamin, John, Fanney and Frances.
