James' baptism took place on July 6th, 1788 in North Bradley.1  James' father was William Gunstone and his mother was Mary Barret.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Gunstone and Betty. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Dinah, Solomon, William, Bartholomew, James, Martha, Grace, Elizabeth, Sarah, Elizabeth and Betty.  He died in 1789.  He was buried on May 17th, 1789 in North Bradley.2
