John's baptism took place on September 2nd, 1733 in North Bradley.1  John's father was Anthony Ashton and his mother was Mary Gibbs.  His paternal grandparents were Moses Ashton and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were John Gibbs and Anne. He had four sisters named Mary, Betty, Sarah and Ann. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Moses, Anthony and Mary.  He died in 1735.  He was buried on January 3rd, 1736 in North Bradley.2
