Robert was born on June 11th, 1695 in Beckliffe.1   Robert's father was Joseph Goad and his mother was Hannah Atkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Goad and Alice. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Richard, Benjamin, John, Isaac, Mary and Hannah.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 76 on April 11th, 1772.  His burial was in Swarthmoor.1 1
