Ada's father was Arthur Shambrook and her mother was Mary Ann Litchfield. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Shambrook and Charlotte Distill. She had a brother and two sisters, named Walter, Alice and Edith. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 66 on November 16th, 1959.²
