Eleanor was born in 1802 and her baptism took place on September 29th, 1802 in Steeple Ashton. Eleanor's father was Thomas Mitchell and her mother was Betty dJoshua Beaven.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles Mitchel and Elizabeth; her maternal grandparents were Joshua Bevan and Ann Summers. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Job, Daniel, Emanuel, Anna and Eliza.  She was the third youngest of the six children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named George, Joan, Mary, Jane and Ann.
