Johan was born on December 18th, 1942. Johan's father was Johan (Org) George Winterbach and his mother was Cornelia Maria de Jager. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Abraham Winterbach and Susanna Johanna Conradie. He had a brother and three sisters, named Loutjie, Rina, Bessie and Marié. He was the second youngest of the five children. He had two half-sisters named Doreen and Sylvia. He died from cancer, Colon, at the age of 78 on May 18th, 2021.¹
