Francina was born on September 27th, 1936 in Ceres and her baptism took place on December 7th, 1936 in NG Kerk, Ceres conducted by Reverend de Jager.1  Francina's father is Hendrik Johannes Winterbach and her mother is Elena Alberta Olivier.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacobus Petrus Winterbach and Gertruida Magdalena Susanna van der Merwe. She has two brothers and two sisters, named Jan, Heinrich, Margaretha and Elna.  She is the oldest of the five children.
