Christiaan (Gert) Jacobus Winterbach

Christiaan, known as Gert, was born on May 29th, 1939 in Tulbagh and his baptism took place on August 20th, 1939 in NG Kerk, Tulbagh.¹   Gert's father was Christiaan (Gert) Jacobus Winterbach and his mother was Francina (Kinna) Louisa Gerber.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Winterbach and Wilhelmina Carolina Botma. He had two brothers and a sister, named Hennie, Piet and Etta.  He is the youngest of the four children.
