Louisa was born on March 4th, 1820.  Louisa's father was Valentine Jefferson Butcher  and her mother was Maryann Margaret Teter. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Isaac, George, Henry, William, Valentine, James, Delilah, Alcinca, Sarah, Elizabeth and Julia.  She was the third oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 72 on February 9th, 1893 in Reedy, WV.

‌Louisa and Samuel were married in a religious ceremony on June 26th, 1863.  They had six sons and four daughters, named Ephram, William, John, Charles, Albert, Major, Julia, Luverna, Eliza and Lucinda.
