Marie Catherine was born in 1741 and her baptism took place on December 23rd, 1741 in Lummen.  Marie Catherine's father was Walter Postelmans and her mother was Marie Gompers.  Her paternal grandparents were Petrus Postelmans and Elisabeth Lambrechts; her maternal grandparents were Arnoldus Gompers and Elisabeth Aerts.  She had five brothers and a sister, named Arnold, Petrus, Joannes, Mathias, Henri and Anna Elisabeth.  She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.
