Helene Lydia BARTEL 
Helene was born on February 28th, 1876 in Hallets Valley, SA.1 Helene's father was Johann Gottlob BARTEL and her mother was Ernstine Louise KIEFEL. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Gottlob BARTEL and Maria Elis BINDER; her maternal grandparents were Johann Gottlieb KIEFEL and Maria Helena. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named August, Gustav, Ernst, Paul, Herman, Johannes, Georg, Anna, Emma, Clara, Martha, Bertha, Anna and Amalie. She died at the age of 82 in 1958.2
