Anna was born on December 16th, 1860 in Schreiberhau, SA.1   Anna's father was Johann Gottlob BARTEL and her mother was Ernstine Louise KIEFEL.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Gottlob BARTEL and Maria Elis BINDER; her maternal grandparents were Johann Gottlieb KIEFEL and Maria Helena. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named August, Gustav, Ernst, Paul, Herman, Johannes, Georg, Emma, Clara, Martha, Bertha, Helene, Anna and Amalie.  She died at the age of 58 in 1918.2
