Matilda was born about 1074 in Scone Abbey, Scone, Perthshire, Scotland. Matilda's father was Waltheof II Earl of Northumbria and Huntingdon and her mother was Judith  De Boulogne of Lens.  Her paternal grandparents were Siward (Sigurd) Biornsson 'Digera' Earl of Northumberland and Aelflaed III (Elfleda) Of Bernicia Countess of Northumberland; her maternal grandparents were Lambert II de Boulogne Comte de Lens and Adeliza (Adelaide) de Normandy Countess Of Ponthieu.  She was an only child.  She died about April 23rd, 1130 in Scotland.
