Charles was born in 1899 in Atherstone, Warwickshire.1  Charles' father was Charles John ASTON and his mother was Alice Allan LOVE. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Wilfred, Arthur, Vera, Annie and Alice.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
