Vera was born in 1897 in Atherstone, Warwickshire.1  Vera's father was Charles John ASTON and her mother was Alice Allan LOVE. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Charles, Wilfred, Arthur, Annie and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.
