Adelaide was born in 0819.1  Adelaide's father was Count of Alsace Hugh (le Mefiant) de Bourges III and her mother was Countess of Tours Ava Eticondes.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Luitfrid of Upper Alsace II and Countess Hiltrude of Alsace; her maternal grandparents were Comte de Tours Luitfied Enticondes and <Unknown>. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Hugh, Luitfried, Etienne, Renaud, Stephen, Ermengarde, Aelis, Bertha and Petronilla.  She was the eighth oldest of the ten children. She had a half-brother named Hugh.  She died at the age of 47 in 0866.1

They had two sons named Conrad and Welf.
