Hugh de Rennes

Hugh was born in 0800 in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine, Bretagne, France.¹ Hugh's father was Count of Alsace Hugh (le Mefiant) de Bourges III and his mother was Bava de Tours. His paternal grandparents were Count Luitfrid of Upper Alsace II and Countess Hiltrude of Alsace. He had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Hugh, Luitfried, Etienne, Renaud, Stephen, Ermengarde, Aelis, Bertha, Adelaide and Petronilla. He died at the age of 53 in 0853.²
