Laureny Douglas PAYTON 
Laureny Douglas was born on September 2nd, 1839 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 Laureny Douglas' father was Anthony PAYTON and his mother was Margaret WALLINGFORD. His maternal grandparents were Mark WALLINGFORD and Mary WHALEY. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named William, James Franklin, Mark Wallingford, Thomas, George Washington, John L., Harvey H., Julina, Mary Wallingford, Louisa D. and Sarah E.. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 42 in November 1881 in Lake Michigan.1 General Notes
Name Laureny D. from father's will; Wallingford website has LarmonDouglas. Barbara Carter has another child named Douglas born in 1841, but Wallingford website probably has it correct with one child named Larmon (or Laureny?) Douglas. Crooks Family Genealogy has name as Larmous. Nadler has Louisa D. Payton born in 1842; this could be another child not recorded by others.
DEATH: Drowned in Lake Michigan.
