Thyra was born in 0947 in Gormshoj, Jellinge, Vejle, Denmark.1   Thyra's father was Harald (Bluetooth) Gormsson of Denmark II and her mother was Gunnhild Olafsdottir.  Her paternal grandparents were Gorm Haraldsson and Thyra Klacksdottir; her maternal grandparents were King of Sweden Olof (Mitkg) Bjornsson and Ingeberg Thrandsdottir. She had a brother and a sister, named Forkbeard and Nevia. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Herbastus, Herfast, Wevia, Gonnor, Senfrie (Eva) and Avelina.  She died at the age of 53 on September 18th, 1000 in Norway.2
