Ealhswith was born in 0852 in Mercia, England.1   Ealhswith's father was Aethelred Mucil of Mercia and her mother was Eadburga of Mercia.  Her paternal grandparents were Mucel and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were King of Mercia Wigmund and Elfleda.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 53 on December 5th, 0905 in St. Mary's Abbey, Winchester, Dorset.2 

Ealhswith's family with Alfred (The Great) England

Ealhswith and Alfred (The Great) were married in a religious ceremony in 0868.  They had two sons and three daughters, named The Elder, Athelstan, Elfgifu, Aethelflaeda and Aelfthryth.
