Bertrade was born in 1060 in Montfort, France.1  Bertrade's father was Simon de Montfort I and her mother was Agnes Evereaux.  Her paternal grandparents were Amauri de Montfort and Bertrada de Gometz; her maternal grandparents were Richard d'Evereaux I and Adele of Barcelona. She had a brother named Amaury.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named The Strong and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 56 on February 14th, 1116 in Fontrevault, France.2
