Thomas Averett was born on October 18th, 1856 in VA.  Thomas Averett's father was Monroe L. Turner and his mother was Martha Leah Grant.  His maternal grandparents were Archibald Grant and Lydia Roberts. He had a brother and three sisters, named Furman Farley, Clarissa Ellen, Nancy 'Nannie' Lydie and Ida Monroe.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named George W., Florence and Rosette J..  He died at the age of 78 on August 11th, 1935 in Jefferson Co, IL.1
