Martha Leah was born on December 20th, 1834 in Pittsylvania Co, VA.1   Martha Leah's father was Archibald Grant and her mother was Lydia Roberts.  Her maternal grandparents were Vincent Roberts and Elizabeth Reed. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Milton Powell, James Diskin, Alfred Roberts, Eliza Reed, Jemina Vincent, Mary Rebecca, Baby and Frances Ann.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 40 on September 17th, 1875 in Moores Prairie Twp, Jefferson Co, IL.1
