Ida Monroe was born on May 20th, 1863 in Leaksville, Rockingham Co, NC.  Ida Monroe's father was Monroe L. Turner and her mother was Martha Leah Grant.  Her maternal grandparents were Archibald Grant and Lydia Roberts. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas Averett, Furman Farley, Clarissa Ellen and Nancy 'Nannie' Lydie.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named George W., Florence and Rosette J..  She died at the age of 82 on December 20th, 1945.
