Eleanor was born in 1823 in Grayson Co, KY.  Eleanor's father was Joseph Sirles and her mother was Martha Roberts.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles Roberts and Frances Langston. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Allen, John, Lucinda, Mary, Frances, Martha and Pharaba.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 27 in 1850.
