Mal D. was born on April 4th, 1902 in White Co, TN.  Mal D.'s father was Albert Armstrong Simmons and his mother was Mary Angaline Simmons.  His paternal grandparents were George Washington Simmons and Lydia Margaret Frances McBride; his maternal grandparents were Francis Simmons and Permelia 'Millie' A. Stipe. He had five brothers named Powell Louis, Stewart Eugene, Elige 'Eligha' R., Ernest D. and Carl.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 20 on February 12th, 1923 in White Co, TN.  He was buried in Simmons Cemetery, White Co, TN.
