Carl was born on April 1st, 1917.  Carl's father was Albert Armstrong Simmons and his mother was Mary Angaline Simmons.  His paternal grandparents were George Washington Simmons and Lydia Margaret Frances McBride; his maternal grandparents were Francis Simmons and Permelia 'Millie' A. Stipe. He had five brothers named Mal D., Powell Louis, Stewart Eugene, Elige 'Eligha' R. and Ernest D..  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 71 on December 26th, 1988.
