William Herod Grissom

William Herod was born on November 4th, 1886 in Van Buren Co, TN. William Herod's father was James Phillip Grissom and his mother was Louisa Caroline Simmons. His maternal grandparents were William M. Simmons and Mary Catherine Stipe. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Ernest Toliver, Haveron Bryan, Abijah E. 'Doc', Phillip Lee, Lela Mae, Virginia Ann 'Jennie', Mary Belle, Elcie Bell and Mary Lodema. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 95 in May 1982 in Spencer, Van Buren Co, TN. He was buried in Long Cemetery, Van Buren Co, TN.
