Countess Sofie of Dassel

Sofie was born about 1162 in Dassel, Hannover, Prussia.¹ Sofie's father was Count Ludolf of Dassel and her mother was Countess. Her paternal grandparents were Count Reinald of Dassel and Countess Mathilde of Schauenburg. She had two brothers and a sister, named Ludolf, Adolf and Countess of Dassel. She was the youngest of the four children.
