James de Shirley

James was born about 1290 in Shirley, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.¹ James' father was Ralph de Shirley and his mother was Isabella de Derby. His paternal grandparents were James de Shirley and Agnes de Walton. He had three brothers and a sister, named Simon, Henry, Ralph and Isabella. He was the oldest of the five children.
